Learning how to get "real" long term traffic to your sites

Getting large amounts of traffic to our sites is something that we all must do if we want to build a business on the net. It's something that is not easy either.

There are ways to get quick and massive traffic like Pay Per Click sites, Adwords and Yahoo Search Marketing, but if you don't know what you're doing, these can end up costing you alot of money instead of making you money. Been there, done that, and bought the T-Shirt!

After that expensive little lesson, I started searching for a video series to teach me real methods to start generating website traffic. I like learning with video because I can go back and watch over and over again until it sinks in. "My wife really is right when she says I have a thick skull."

I wanted to learn from someone who had a proven marketing background and a no BS method. After looking at several people who made such videos, I purchased Matthew Glanfield's "Affilliate Marketing Traffic Videos" . They are excellent.

I learned so much and was so impressed with this guy that I purchased full resale rights to them. It has become very important to me(and I feel it should be to you too), to only promote affiliate products and services that deliver real value. I believe it is the only way to build a real and lasting business that will give you repeat customers. Let's face it, it's much easier and more profitable to keep an existing customer than it is to get new ones.

Well that's it for today...if you want to learn some highly effective methods for generating traffic to your sites, check out these videos by clicking here

Telling a story in my ads

Some of the most responsive ads I've ever written have been those where I told a simple story in my ad. I told of a problem I had and then proceeded to tell the reader how I solved the problem with a product or service I was selling.

First hand experience is a good selling point. I don't just make up a story. I tell about my own personal experience and how my problem was solved with the product or service I'm promoting.

Think about this for a minute...why do you always see "weight loss" commercials with before and after pictures? And usually the person who lost the weight is the one doing the talking on the commercial? Because it sells, that's why. You see first hand the weight problem the person was having, and then you see how the product solved the "weight" problem.

Hope this helps,
Kevin Webster

Some classified ad sites I use.

Here's a few of the higher traffic sites I use to place ads in.

www.craigslist.org...this one gets huge amounts of traffic and will get your site indexed quickly. I highly recommend it.

www.ebay.com...many people don't know yet that ebay now allows classifieds. Another very high traffic site that will get your site indexed in the search engines very quickly. You can even ad audio, video, and links to your landing pages right from your ad.

Be sure your write a benefit rich headline. It is the key to getting your ads read. Tell your prospect "what's in it for them" if they read your ad.
So many people just write ads telling people how great there wiz bang is. People don't care...they want to know what's in it for them if they take action now.

How to write good headlines Part 2

"Free" and "How to" are both good to use in your headline. These are attention grabbing words. Here's a couple of examples of Headlines I use in my business that have good click through ratios (ctr).

Example #1:

$299 website free...plus guaranteed traffic and sales!

Example #2:

How to get your very own $299 website free...plus guaranteed traffic!

These both pull very well for me and should give you an example to go by in writing headlines for your own business.

See how I have put the biggest benefits I have to offer my customers in the headline?

Hope this helps....Get out there and make some sales!

Writing a Good Headline is the place to start

The headline of any ad or sales letter is where you must immediately capture your readers attention to have any chance of getting them to read on about what you have to offer. You have only a few seconds to get this done.

Always (and I mean always) put your self in the "shoes" of your reader.

Think about this for a second...When you read someone else's ad, what do you want to know? Do you want to know how great their "Wiz Bang" (or what ever their offer) is? Or, do you want to know how that "Wiz Bang" is going to help you get what you want or need? You want to know what's in it for you, right? The headline must convey that what ever the offer is, it's going to benefit you to read on.

So what ever it is you have to offer, put the biggest benefit of your product or service in the headline...Tell them what's in it for them so they will read on or click on your link.
